Deer Management Workshop Slated for May 13 in Big Rapids

The Department of Natural Resources will host a deer
management workshop for northwest Michigan residents at
9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 13, at the Holiday Inn located
at 1005 Perry Street in Big Rapids. The workshop will
take place in the University Ballroom D.
"The deer management workshop is intended to give the
northwest Michigan hunting community and other
stakeholders an opportunity to gain insight into the
processes the DNR uses to estimate the deer population,"
said DNR Wildlife Division Chief Bill Moritz. "I
encourage hunters and others to join us to learn about
how we estimate deer population and to provide crucial
feedback about this important component of wildlife
management."
The workshop will be followed by a reception and will
conclude at approximately 12 p.m.
